Compress Video to 10MB – How It Works
Compress10MB is a simple tool that takes your uploaded video and re-encodes it to an optimized MP4 file using H.264 (libx264) video codec and AAC audio.
All videos are converted to MP4 format for maximum compatibility. We use:
- H.264 (High profile)
- AAC audio (64 kbps)
- Maximum resolution up to 1280px width
- 30 FPS constant frame rate
- Optimized bitrate based on your selected target size
- Faststart enabled for better streaming and playback
If your original video is larger than 1280px wide, it will be scaled down. Frame rate is limited to 30fps to improve compression efficiency. Longer GOP structure helps reduce file size for static scenes.
The higher the compression level, the more quality loss you will see — especially in fast motion scenes. That’s the trade-off. The tool aims to reach your selected file size, not preserve original quality at all costs.
Videos are uploaded to the server for processing.
Compressed files remain available for download for up to one hour, after which both the original and compressed files are permanently deleted.
