  5. 5.Click Apply and download the converted file.

What this tool does

Format conversion re-encodes the video using FFmpeg. MP4, MOV, MKV, and AVI outputs use H.264 video and AAC audio for maximum compatibility. WebM uses VP9 video and Opus audio, which gives better compression for web use. After converting to a non-MP4 format, editing tools are disabled — undo the conversion or convert back to MP4 to continue editing.

Features

  • Accepts AVI, MOV, MKV, WebM, FLV, WMV, and more
  • Non-MP4 uploads auto-converted to MP4 on arrival
  • Export to MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, or AVI
  • Combine with compress, trim, resize, and remove audio
  • No account required; files deleted after 1 hour

FAQ

Why is my video automatically converted to MP4 after upload?
The browser's built-in video player only reliably plays MP4. Converting on upload ensures the preview works and all editing tools are available immediately.
Can I edit the video after converting to WebM or MOV?
No — editing tools (compress, trim, resize, remove audio) only work on MP4 files. Use the undo button to revert to MP4, make your edits, then convert again.
Which format should I choose?
MP4 (H.264) is the most compatible format for sharing and uploading. WebM is smaller and ideal for web embedding. MOV is the native format for Apple devices and Final Cut Pro. MKV supports multiple audio/subtitle tracks. AVI is a legacy format supported by older software.
Will quality be lost during conversion?
Yes — re-encoding always involves some quality loss. The tool uses CRF 23 (H.264) or CRF 33 (VP9), which are good quality-to-size trade-offs. If you need lossless output, a dedicated desktop tool is a better choice.
