Set a start time and end time to keep only the section you want. The clip is re-encoded to MP4 on the server using H.264 — the output is a clean, self-contained file, not just a container edit. Useful for removing intros, outros, or any unwanted section before sharing.
How to use
- 1.Upload your video using the button above.
- 2.Set a start time in seconds (e.g. 10 for 0:10).
- 3.Set an end time — the preview snaps to your start frame.
- 4.Click Apply and wait for the server to process the trim.
- 5.Download the trimmed MP4.
What this tool does
The tool runs FFmpeg with a start offset and a duration limit, then re-encodes the result with H.264 video and AAC audio. Unlike a fast trim that only moves container markers, this re-encodes the output so the file plays correctly from frame 0 with no black frames or audio sync issues. The output is a standard MP4 that works everywhere.
Features
- —Set any start and end time in seconds (decimals supported)
- —Live preview snaps to the start frame before you apply
- —Re-encoded output — no broken keyframes or sync issues
- —Output is MP4 (H.264 + AAC)
- —Chain with other tools (compress, resize) in one session
- —No account required; files deleted after 1 hour
FAQ
- Can I trim to a specific timestamp like 1:23?
- The tool uses seconds — enter 83 for 1 minute 23 seconds. Decimal values work too, for example 83.5.
- Does trimming reduce the file size?
- Yes. A shorter clip has fewer frames, so the output is proportionally smaller. For further reduction, run the Compress tool afterwards.
- The preview looks right but the output starts from the wrong frame — why?
- The browser preview seeks to your start time instantly. FFmpeg snaps to the nearest keyframe during encoding, so the first frame of the output may differ by a fraction of a second. For frame-accurate results on clips with infrequent keyframes, compress the video first to increase keyframe density.
- What is the maximum video length I can trim?
- There is no hard limit on duration, but larger files take longer to upload and process. Sessions expire after 1 hour of inactivity.
- Can I trim the same video multiple times?
- Yes — apply Trim, then apply it again with different values. Each step is added to the processing queue and you can undo the last one.
